Directed by Terrance Nance. Tardy on posting Pharoahe Monch’s latest featuring the soulful sounds of Jill Scott. But this is definitely a strong visual message captured from Monch’s poetic prose. Seems to frame the young Monch, child-like and carefree, even though he harbors breathing complications. “Please do not run too fast or play in the leaves. You can’t breathe.” The scenes pan back and forth between his past and present as if it was an attempt to show how similar they are. Interestingly enough both instances include a “worried mother-figure” rushing to his immediate aid, which agrees with the above lyric. Check it out.
